Ready for impact.
Reinvented from the inside out, the all-new Mac Pro is designed around a revolutionary unified thermal core that utilizes an innovative fan to draw in air incredibly efficiently, resulting in a professional desktop that packs unprecedented performance into a form factor that is 9.9-inches tall and one-eighth the volume of its predecessor.
Stunning new design.
Brilliantly compact and quiet, the Mac Pro is also the most powerful and expandable Mac to date. Its configure-to-order options include faster 8-core or 12-core Intel Xeon E5 processors at Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, AMD FirePro D700 GPUs with 6GB of VRAM, up to 64GB of memory, and up to 1TB of PCIe-based flash storage.
Powerful multicore processors.
Powered by the latest Intel Xeon E5 processor, the new Mac Pro features up to 12-core processing power and a four-channel memory controller that provides up to 60GB/s of memory bandwidth – all on a single die. Other enhancements include 40 lanes of PCIe 3.0 throughput, up to 30MB of L3 cache, and over 500 gigaflops at peak performance.
Dual workstation-class GPUs.
Each new Mac Pro arrives standard with dual AMD FirePro workstation-class GPUs, offering up to 6GB of dedicated VRAM and 2048 stream processors each for up to 264GB/s of memory bandwidth and up to 3.5 teraflops. That translates to enough processing power to edit full-resolution 4K video, while simultaneously rendering effects in the background — all while connecting up to three 4K displays.
Faster PCIe-based flash storage.
By taking advantage of next-generation PCIe-based flash storage, the sequential read performance of the new Mac Pro is up to 1.2GB/s, up to 2.4 times faster than SATA-based solid-state drives, and up to 10 times faster than a 7200-rpm SATA hard drive. This leads to faster boot-up time and improved application load times, even when opening massive files.
Designed to be truly expandable, the new Mac Pro features an incredible six Thunderbolt 2 ports, each delivering throughput of up to 20Gb/s per device. As each port supports up to six daisy-chained devices, you will have the ability to connect up to 36 high-performance peripherals to the Mac Pro, from external storage devices, to multiple PCIe expansion chassis, while also supporting the latest 4K displays.
