PCMark 8

HWM (Malaysia) - - TEST -

(higher is better)

PCMark 8 is a synthetic benchmark that runs the machines through various tasks in different scenarios, such as browsing the web, creating documents in word processing and spreadsheet software, editing photos and photos, and casual gaming.

As a whole, it may not have looked like there was a clear winner among the notebooks, but when we dive into the productivity tests, we can see a few stand out performers. The Lenovo X1 topped the Microsoft Office test and was pretty cconsistent in other workloads, either a solid second or very closely tied at the top. The HP on the other hand was less consistent. While it took the top scores in the Adobe CS6 test, it performed the worst in Microsoft Office.

The Dell, with its slower i5 processor held its own in terms of productivity, but as expected, landed in the middle for most tests.
