Samsung Took to the Langkawi Island to Showcase the GALAXY Tab S
It's a very interesting month for Samsung. A couple of months ago, the company held the grand launch of its latest tablet, the GALAXY Tab S, in New York City. Not long after, the Korean giant then held the official launch event here in Malaysia.
It didn't stop there either. To further demonstrate the prowess of the GALAXY Tab S, Samsung Malaysia Electronics then invited the media out to a retreat to Langkawi. Called the 'My Tab S Factor' Challenge, the trip was an event in which the media would participate in a series of challenges, all of which were focused on the features and capabilities of the GALAXY Tab S.
As mentioned, the event also served as a way for the company to showcase some of the new features on the GALAXY Tab S, such as the newly improved SideSync 3.0 app that allows users to pair their Samsung GALAXY smartphone (in this case, the GALAXY S5) directly to the GALAXY Tab S. Compared to the previous version of SideSync, the latest SideSync 3.0 now allows users to answer calls from their phones directly on the tablet.
Additionally, Samsung introduced the new Adaptive Display feature on the GALAXY Tab S. The feature effectively adjusts the screen's brightness according to its surrounding.
The media getaway wasn't the only event that was happening during the challenge. Back on the mainland, the Korean giant also held an exciting launch event. Exclusive for the first 100 customers, the company was offering a RM500 rebate for the GALAXY Tab S at all participating Samsung Experience Stores. The event lasted for three days, from July 11 till July 13, 2014. During that time, participating stores such as the Gardens Mall reported customers arriving as early as 4:00am at the front of the store in order to take advantage of the deal.
In addition to the purchase of the GALAXY Tab S, customers were also given a 16GB USB OTG drive, a RM100 Zalora voucher, a GALAXY Tab S Simple Cover, and a Boost Juice voucher worth RM9.50 from Samsung for free.
The GALAXY Tab S is available in two sizes: 8.4-inch and 10.1-inch. The tablets will retail at RM1,699 and RM 1,999 respectively. Samsung will also be selling special Book Covers for each tablet size, with the covers retailing for RM199 and RM229 for both the 8.4-inch and 10.1-inch models respectively.
