Nikon’s Cap­ture NX-D soft­ware goes live

Cap­ture NX-D Soft­ware Of­fi­cially Re­leased

Ear­lier this year, Nikon in­tro­duced the beta ver­sion of Cap­ture NX-D, an image pro­cess­ing soft­ware that’s op­ti­mized for the “pro­cess­ing and ad­just­ing of RAW im­ages cap­tured with Nikon dig­i­tal cam­eras”. Last month, Nikon of­fi­cially re­leased the live ver­sion of this soft­ware, which is avail­able as a free down­load at nikon­­nxd.

Cap­ture NX-D sup­ports many fea­tures, in­clud­ing batch image pro­cess­ing, fil­ter­ing, as well as the abil­ity to ad­just ex­po­sure and white bal­ance. In ad­di­tion, you can also cor­rect lat­eral color aber­ra­tion and vi­gnetting in JPEG and TIFF files.

The soft­ware – cur­rently Ver­sion 1.0.0 – has the fol­low­ing PC re­quire­ments:

• Mi­crosoft Win­dows 7 and newer or OS X ver­sion 10.8 and newer

• In­tel Core i5 or bet­ter

• 2GB for 32-bit and 4GB or more

for 64-bit ver­sions Win­dows

• 800MB HDD space

Nikon’s Cap­ture NX 2 will no longer be up­dated now that Cap­ture NX-D has gone live.
