The Va­por-X tech­nol­ogy ef­fec­tively keeps the card’s tem­per­a­ture lev­els well below 70 de­grees Cel­cius un­der a full load. The card is loaded with 3GB of GDDR5 RAM, which has a core clock­speed of 1,100MHz, and a boost clock speed of 1,500MHz. The Sap­phire Va­por-X R9 280X keeps cool un­der a full load, thanks to its Va­por Cham­ber Tech­nol­ogy. This tech­nol­ogy its coolant by heat­ing it up into va­por and then rapidly cool­ing down the coolant at the sur­face, con­dens­ing it back into a liq­uid state.
