IN­TEL CORE I7-4790K DEVIL’S CANYON

The lat­est CPU in the com­pany’s port­fo­lio, Devil’s Canyon is ac­tu­ally a re­fresh of the com­pany’s pre­vi­ous Haswell pro­ces­sors, which came out less than a year ago. By com­par­i­son, the topof-the­line Haswell pro­ces­sor has a base clock speed of 3.5GHz, which could be boost well be­yond the 4.0GHz mark. With the Devil’s Canyon pro­ces­sor, In­tel has man­aged to set its base clock speed at 4GHz, and have enough room to reach boost clock speeds of 4.5GHz, thanks to the new Ther­mal In­ter­face Ma­te­rial (TIM) which is used to make the pro­ces­sor.
