Ricoh Surprises with New Line of Products That Incorporate Jam-Free Rollers and Ink-Saving Technology
Ricoh Malaysia recently launched its new range of printers and projectors in Kota Damansara at an informal media preview. Amongst the products showcased were a lineup of jam-free laser printers, a series of color laser printers, an interactive short throw projector, and a preview of the GelJet four-inone printer.
Touting a newly developed roller system that prevents paper jams even when fed with crumpled and partially torn paper are the RICOH SP 112 series laser printers. The most affordable of the series is the single function SP 112. Slim and compact, the printer is able to produce 16 pages-per-minute and costs only RM299.
Its larger siblings are the SP 112SU and the SP 122SF. Similar in functionality, both multifunction printers can scan, copy, and print documents. However, the SP 112SF could also send and receive fax. The SP 112SU and the SP 122SF are priced at RM469 and RM669, respectively.
For those looking for a color laser printer solution, Ricoh offers the SP C250 series. The SP C250DN and SP C250SF both boast smart device connectivity, and a constant 20 page-per-minute prints for both color and monochrome. The SP C250SF, however, has the advantage of being a multi-purpose printer with copier, facsimile and scanner capabilities. The SP C250DN and SP C250SF are priced at RM899 and RM1,799, respectively.
The most interesting of the printers on show was the SG 3120B SFNw, Ricoh’s latest eco-friendly printer and its first battery-driven GelJet four-in-one multifunction printer. The printer is capable of producing 1,000 pages or six hours of continuous printouts on a single charge. It uses a fast-drying viscous pigmentbased Liquid Gel, which produces smudge free and water resistant ink.
Furthermore, the printer is equipped with special technology that reduces ink loss, especially during a printer’s initial boot and diagnostics. This results in the printer being able to print up to 2,000 pages on a single set of cartridges, which is double the number as compared to a similar printer without the system. The SG 3120B SFNw is expected to have a price tag of somewhere between RM1,500 and RM2,000.
Also at the event was Ricoh’s latest PJ WX4141 Ultra Short Throw Projector series. It comes in three variants: the PJ WX4141, PJ WX4141N, and the PJ WX4141NI. All three projectors are able to produce an image, while being as close as 11.7cm away from the projection wall.
While the PJ WX4141 is the most basic projector in the series, the PJ WX4141N features wireless and wireless connectivity. The PJ WX4141NI, on the other hand, features interactivity where the user could use a stylus to move the cursor on the screen accurately from a distance. With this air stylus, users and write, draw, or make notes on the display from a distance.
Meanwhile, Ricoh also announced that the P3000 Unified Communication System and D5500 Interactive Whiteboard will be bundled together for RM25,000. As a special promotion, from July 1 until September 30, the combo can be ordered at a discounted price of RM19,000.
