Panasonic Unveils LUMIX G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH Lens

HWM (Malaysia) - - APERTURE - NEWS -

Panasonic recently made a surprising unveiling of a brand new 25mm f/1.7mm lens, along with a new matte black finish for three existing G lenses: the 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6, the 45-150mm f/4-5.6, and 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6.

The new LUMIX G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH is a prime lens designed to enhanced low-light shooting and depth of field control. Offering a longer focal length than the pricier 20mm f/1.7 II pancake lens, this new lens gives users a classic 50mm equivalent focal length lens with a very wide, bright aperture. It is constructed from 8 elements in 7 lens groups, and touts a rounded 7-blade diaphragm for smooth bokeh. It also utilizes a single UHR element, paired with two aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion.

There’s no word on the official release date of the new LUMIX G 25mm f/1.7 ASPH lens yet, but it is expected to cost around US$298 (approx. RM1,291).
