Partnering with Several Local Universities, Huawei Launched an Initiative in Support of the Government’s Higher Education Blueprint 2015- 2025
OCTOBER 2015 Huawei Malaysia recently launched a program, aligned with the Higher Education Blueprint 2015-2025, to increase professional skills amongst graduates through an industry-based curriculum.
Working with four Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN) universities, namely, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP), Universiti Tun Hussain Onn Malaysia (UTHM), and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), the program exposes selected graduate students to end-to-end holistic ICT training covering IP, Wireless, Fixed, Transmission, and Core Network.
“Successful collaboration between academia and industry is key towards the advancement and growth of higher education in Malaysia. The transfer of technology, sharing of industry knowhow and best practices, joint problem solving as well as collaboration in technical areas, research and human capital training, are among the many benefits of a strong relationship between academia and industry. In this regard, I am heartened to be here today and be part of this commendable collaboration between the four universities which make up the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN) and Huawei. I am confident that this effort will go a long way towards enabling us to nurture holistic and balanced graduates, especially so in the ICT industry,” commented YB Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, Minister of Higher Education, Malaysia.
The 45-day Huawei Certified Network Graduated Certification (HCNG) training program, which ended on September 14, promises to deliver industry-based course curriculum, laboratory and site experience, trainer cultivation modeling, and globally benchmarked certification and global test delivery system to support international, accurate computer-based test system and flawless exam delivery.
