FUJIFILM Launched instax mini 70, a SelfieCentric Instant Camera

HWM (Malaysia) - - APERTURE - NEWS -

Instant film is more than just a novelty, it’s a means to keep a precious moment in physical form, a form that could be shown and shared with friends and family, face to face.

Riding on the rising trend of selfies, FUJIFILM Malaysia announced the release of the instax mini 70, the latest entry in the popular instax mini series. Targeted at men and women between age 20 and 30, the mini 70 is designed not only to be functional, but also fashionable.

FUJIFILM’s instax cameras traditionally come in muted pastel colors, but not the mini 70. It is offered in three bright colors: Canary Yellow, Island Blue, and Moon White, with more to come in the future, according to Yoshitaka Nakamura, Managing Director of FUJIFILM Malaysia.

Positioned between the mini 50 and the mini 90, the mini 70 features Selfie, Macro, and Landscape modes, in addition to Auto-exposure and Hi-key modes. To assist in selfies, the camera has a front-facing shutter button – instead of two – and a selfie mirror similar to the one seen on the mini 25.

When held, the mini 70 feels less bulky than the mini 8 and mini 25, but more comfortable than the mini 50 and mini 90. This is mainly due to its battery compartment, which holds two CR2 Lithium batteries and doubles as a thumb grip.

When asked about expectations, Nakamura said that the instax line is poised to make up 30 percent of the total sales of FUJIFILM’s imaging solutions. His confidence is backed by an aggressive promotion campaign.

The FUJIFILM instax mini 70 is expected to retail for RM598.
