DECEMBER 2015 Xiaomi, like many Chinese phone makers, has a fundamental understanding that goes over the head of most, if not all, premium phone makers. To drive this point, let us first take a look at the price of the recently-released Redmi Note 2, and then delve deeper into its specifications.

The Redmi Note 2 is essentially a dual-SIM smartphone with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a 13MP rear camera, and is powered by MediaTek's MT6795 helio X10 octa-core 64-bit processor with 2GB of LPDDR3 memory and a PowerVR G6200 GPU. It's no frills, with no checklist of features no one asked just to stand out from the crowd.

The Redmi Note 2 performs just as well as the phones in its processor class that cost twice as much.
