New Committee, Office Bearers, Councilors, and Chairman to Strengthen the Voice of ICT in Malaysia
The National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM), after holding its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM), announced the appointment of its new Chairman and office bearers, as well as councilors for 2016.
Former Deputy Chairman, Chin Chee Seong, was elected as Chairman, and Ganesh Kumar Bangah was appointed his Deputy. Other changes include its former Treasurer, Danny Lee, who is now the elected Secretary.
Meanwhile, the new team of councilors includes Stan Singh-Jit, Carol Wong, Christopher Chan, and Dr. Dzaharudin bin Mansor.
The councilors will serve for a period of two years, and will be joined by Jeffrey Ooi, Eric Wong, Ong Chin Seong, and Ivan The, who are serving until the next AGM in 2016. Office bearers who were elected, however, will only serve for a one-year term.
“I am honored to have been given the opportunity to lead PIKOM and express my sincere thanks and appreciation to my peers and all members who have given me their trust to helm the Association. I also wish to thank Mr. Cheah for the strong foundation that he has left behind and we will strive to continue building on the good work achieved thus far. Certainly, we will continue playing an active role as the voice of the ICT industry. Given the dynamic, rapidly evolving economic and technological environment, there is plenty to cover and we will hit the ground running,” said Chin Chee Seong, the recentlyelected PIKOM Chairman.
He added that in 2016, the organization will work on strengthening its pool of professional talent and re-launch the PIKOM Fair series of events to be known as ‘PIKOM Fair 3.0’.
