Zeiss and ExoLens Teamed Up for SmartphoneOptimized Lenses

HWM (Malaysia) - - APERTURE -

Legendary lens manufacturer Zeiss recently teamed up with smartphone accessory manufacturer ExoLens to come up with a range of lenses for smartphones. Currently, the range consists of three products for the iPhone – a macro lens, a wideangle lens, and a telephoto lens. The macro lens lets you focus as close as 30 mm, the wide-angle lens offers a 0.6x magnification to give an 18 mm focal length, while the telephoto lens offers 2x magnification to give an 58 mm focal length.

The telephoto and wide-angle range of lenses is called Mutar, while the macro lens is called the Vario-Proxar. All these lenses have been designed to suppress chromatic aberrations, and minimize distortion. They’ve also been coated with Zeiss’ famous T* coating for optimum contrast and clarity.

The lenses are attached to the iPhone via an ExoLens aluminum bracket using a screw thread. This bracket has a standard tripod mount, as well as a socket for mounting additional accessories. Currently, the bracket is only compatible with the iPhone 6/6s, and 6 Plus/6s Plus.
