VMware unveiled a new platform – Workspace ONE – for delivering secure digital workspaces for flexible work styles and bring your own device environment. The digital workspace delivered by VMware addresses the end-user and enterprise IT business mobility needs by aggregating all devices, applications and services, while securely managing them through unified common access and identity.

“In the mobile cloud era, employees, devices, applications and data increasingly live beyond the physical walls of the workplace, the datacenter, or the network. Digital enterprises are struggling to deliver a unified digital workspace due to disjointed technology and teams. We are proud to be the first to bring together identity, device management and application delivery on a single integrated platform so business can be conducted by mobile end-users regardless of platform, location, device or application,” Sanjay Poonen, Executive Vice President and General Manager, End-User Computing, VMware.

Bringing the local context, Ron Goh, President of Southeast Asia and Korea, VMware said that with over a million connected devices expected by 2025, Malaysia is quickly moving towards a collaborative mobile economy.

“Mobility has become mainstream with employees accessing information anytime, anywhere and on any devices. Enterprises, therefore, require the applications to support this flexibility in today’s digital workspace. Designed to meet the varying needs of the mobile employee, VMware’s Workspace ONE empowers businesses with enterprise mobility tools that enable enterprise-level applications with consumer-grade experience in a secure and collaborative environment,” added Goh.

VMware Workspace ONE is expected to be generally available this quarter. The solution will be offered in standard, advanced, and enterprise editions with prices starting at US$8 per user per month for cloud subscriptions, and US$150 per user for onpremises perpetual licenses.
