HP announced that it will be offering Device-as-a-Service program for enterprises in Malaysia. The program aims to help businesses who want to move fast, be more efficient, and still provide the best experience to demanding employees without the challenge of time, cost, and complexity of procuring and maintaining their PC infrastructure.

“Enterprises want to spend more time innovating and engaging with their customers, instead of worrying about their PC infrastructure and costs. HP DaaS takes care of the customer’s whole PC lifecycle, simplifying IT’s job, giving end-users peace of mind and a better experience with their devices,” said Kym Lim, Managing Director, HP PPS Sales, Malaysia.

HP explained that with DaaS, customers can use their PCs like a utility. They pay one price per seat on a monthly basis over a threeor four-year period. They also get customized services and support from HP. As the provider, HP will assist with PC configuration and installation, on-site break-fix, data migration, proactive support, while having the ability to refresh to the latest HP technology for subsequent contract periods.

The devices covered under HP DaaS include commercial desktops, notebook PCs, tablets, and workstations.

By using HP DaaS, customers can free themselves from having to pay the upfront costs of buying new PCs, as it incorporates services, support, and eventual disposal as part of overall services.

This is unlike a typical leasing agreement for PC acquisition, where setup and maintenance agreement are covered under separate contracts. This means that customers can enjoy more predictable annual costs and greater ease from managing just one contract during the entire PC lifecycle.
