It's been a long time com­ing, but fans of the

se­ries will fi­nally be able to dive into its lat­est main in­stall­ment, when it be­comes avail­able on both the PlayS­ta­tion 4 and Xbox One on Septem­ber 30, 2016.

will de­pict the story of Noc­tis, the crown prince of the King­dom of Lu­cis, who is try­ing to re­claim his throne after be­ing be­trayed and at­tacked by the Em­pire of Ni­fl­heim. He won't be do­ing it sin­gle-hand­edly though, be­cause join­ing him on his quest are his child­hood friends: Ig­nis, Gla­di­o­lus, and Prompto.

In fact, there will even be a full-length 3D-an­i­mated fea­ture film that runs par­al­lel to the events of called But rather than fol­low­ing the ad­ven­tures of Noc­tis and his band of friends, Kings­glaive will in­stead be fo­cus­ing on Noc­tis' fa­ther, King Regis, as he at­tempts to stave off Ni­fl­heim's im­pe­rial army from tak­ing over the King­dom of Lu­cis.

As with most newly launched games, the PS4 ver­sion of

will be avail­able as a Stan­dard Edi­tion, Deluxe Edi­tion, and Ul­ti­mate Col­lec­tor's Edi­tion. They will be re­tail­ing for RM259, RM399, and RM1,399, re­spec­tively.

While the Stan­dard Edi­tion only in­cludes the base

game along with a down­load­able Masamune sword, the Deluxe Edi­tion will com­prise all con­tent of the Stan­dard Edi­tion, but with an ad­di­tional Blu-ray copy of

and down­load­able con­tent such as a Royal Rai­ment out­fit, and a Plat­inum Le­viathan coat­ing for Noc­tis' car.

Nat­u­rally, it is the Ul­ti­mate Col­lec­tor's Edi­tion that comes with the most amount of good­ies, which in­cludes all the con­tent of the Deluxe Edi­tion, a Blu-ray copy of

a Blu-ray Disc Music (which fea­tures the sound­track of and

an art­book, and a Noc­tis ac­tion fig­ure.
