BATTLING YOUR INNER DEMONS
Persona 5 Gets Japanese Release for PS3 and PS4 on September 15
You won’t need to wait much longer until the next installment of the immensely popular series finally arrives – provided that you’re living in Japan. Atlus, the developer behind
and its spinoff series, has recently announced that will be launching in Japan for the PS3 and PS4 on September 15 this year. Good news indeed, considering that the game was initially scheduled to be launched in Winter 2014, but was delayed for unknown reasons to late 2015. Obviously, it didn’t manage to meet its second deadline either.
will focus on the story of a 16-year old protagonist, known as The Phantom, who has recently been transferred to Syujin High School in Tokyo, Japan. There, he befriends the juvenile delinquent Ryuji Sakamoto, the reclusive Anne Takamaki, art student Yusuke Kitagawa, and a magical shape-shifting talking cat known as Morgana.
Together, they form a group called the ‘Phantom Thieves of Hearts’, and explore a mysterious place known as ‘The Palace’, which is purportedly conceived by “the distorted mind of adults”. The Japanese release of
will include a special ‘20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition’, which comes chock-full of goodies such as a
artbook, a five-disc Persona soundtrack anthology, a ‘Special
Art treasure box’, and a number of downloadable content in the form of special outfits. With such a bountiful offering, it’s hardly any surprise that it will be retailing for a whopping 13,800 yen (approx. RM512) when it arrives.
Suffice to say, we’ll be learning more about and (hopefully) details about its international availability during E3 2016, which will be happening from June 14 to 16 in Los Angeles, California.
