Why are some Canon L lenses white? Ac­cord­ing to Canon, it’s to re­duce heat ab­sorp­tion when a lens is used in bright sun­light, where wildlife and event pho­tog­ra­phers might shoot. White re ects more light than black, and re­duces the ef­fects that heat might have on the lens.
