Huawei’s ICT workshops saw over 300 participants from Malaysian universities.
Huawei held a closing ceremony that marks the company’s fulfillment of raising local ICT talents through ICT workshops that were held at its Customer Solution Integration and Integration Experience Center (CSIC). As part of a collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, this initiative involved over 300 students from Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Universiti Teknologi MARA in East Malaysia.
Some of the students had the opportunity to experience for themselves the applications and services that make use of Huawei’s platform in cybersecurity, industrial Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data analysis, and more. All these highlight not only the skills needed by a Huawei employee, but also the way the theories that they have learnt can be applied in the industry.
Abraham Liu, CEO of Huawei Malaysia, said: “Huawei deeply believes in the value of empowering the youth as they are the future that will help build a better connected world. We have always worked to facilitate openness through collaboration by working with local universities. Our principle of shared success guides us to help local talent to align education with the real life requirements of the ICT industry. Through our industry workshops, we are helping to shape a strong talent ecosystem by sharing best practices that will drive and support ICT industry development in Malaysia.”
