Good brand­ing is al­ways a sig­nif­i­cant re­quire­ment for busi­nesses. It has be­come a par­tic­u­larly im­por­tant in the af­ter­math of the global fi­nan­cial cri­sis that has hit in­sur­ers hard, caus­ing a great dent in brand per­cep­tion around the world in­clud­ing Malaysia. Ad­di­tion­ally, re­cent M&A ac­tiv­i­ties in the in­surance sec­tor in Malaysia also meant that a num­ber of names have dis­ap­peared and new ones emerged.
