Planning for the Future
We do not spend enough time preparing for the future. Some of us choose to pay close attention to the near future only but what about further into the future; what about during our retirement years? In this issue we feature an indepth guide on personal financial planning by an expert from the Securities Commission, Mr. Thechinamoorthy. Understand the pivotal steps that you can take today to insure a brighter future ahead for you and loved ones. We are also proud to bring to you an indepth look at the broking industry and how it correlates with the insurance industry. Alex Low, Chairman of MITBA takes us through some of the key elements to raise the standards of the broking industry and the plans they have in place. This issue also features Insurance magazine’s first roundtable discussion on Life Insurance and features the varied view of some of our industry’s top professionals. We hope this style of feature is well received and we invite other professionals in the industry to come forward to participate in these types of discussions. Malaysian Insurance Institute believes that such discourse is paramount to spreading knowledge, identifying issues and bringing industry professionals together for the benefit of all involved. Our frequent contributor, Raja Ahmad Khiruddin, also includes a well written piece on talent management waste and some contributing factors that constantly arise as well as how to manage this issue in the most timely and cost effective way. Last but not least we have highlights from the last Million Dollar Round Table MCC CEO/CAO breakfast forum. The inaugural breakfast forum was to have an interactive dialogue to explore how MDRT may be able to assist the companies with challenges they face in developing their agency channels. As we enter the final quarter of 2014, I would like to wish our Indian readers a very Happy Deepavali as well!
