WHY GO

This café is a delightful surprise. Diners will not really be expecting anything like the league of Marini’s, 57 floors up from here; they will be impressed though.

TATLER TIPS

Although the menu is much smaller, the contents are masterfully cooked, presented and served. It’s a miracle that such a small kitchen can produce such quality results. The wine list will appeal to champagne addicts.

• The only signature dish listed is “cold pasta”. It doesn’t sound inspiring, but the simple pairing of aglio olio with a little pecorino is quite irresistible.

• Meat lovers will find some dishes, such as the slow-cooked ribs, more invigorating than a pedestrian roast chicken.

• The real treat here are the desserts. It would be hard to find a better panna cotta.
