Dine on swine and wine at the Spanish-inspired El Cerdo, which has been keeping diners happy for over a decade at its streetfront location on bustling Changkat Bukit Bintang.
Diners come here for the consistency of its “nose-to-tail” cuts of everything porky. Apart from Spanish specialities, Austrian dishes such as schnitzel and German pork knuckle complete the menu.
Two standouts on the pork-centric menu are the ovenroasted Iberico spare ribs and pork knuckle. While the rib meat is scant, its buttery flavour is delicious. The knuckle, meanwhile, comes encased in crispy moreish pork skin. El Cerdo’s mountain paella is not the usual seafood variety as it includes plenty of pork, but you’ll still get the beautifully scented saffron-infused rice and the socarrat, aka crispy rice bits on the bottom of the pan, that makes the dish.
