Be­ing lo­cated in fairly non­de­script sur­round­ings has not damp­ened Erawan’s pop­u­lar­ity. The restau­rant is now into its sev­enth year and its fu­sion Thai cui­sine con­tin­ues to charm.


As the restau­rant is rather small with only 10 ta­bles or so, reg­u­lars know to make reser­va­tions and or­der in ad­vance.

Start with the very de­lec­ta­ble man­gos­teen salad, a happy riot of prawns, cut­tle­fish and man­gos­teen drenched in a mor­eish tangy dress­ing. What truly sets the tom yum soup apart here is the thick soup base that’s redo­lent of myr­iad herbs, spices and briny seafood. As a boon, you get to dic­tate the level of spice. There are many rare unique dishes on the menu. One such gem is the fresh cock­les in thick red curry that’s cooked to a lovely crunch and topped with be­tel leaves.
