Kura offers serenity and quality Japanese cuisine within a stone’s throw from the One Utama shopping bustle.
The food is a blend of mainstream and innovative. While the forays into the avant-garde are always palatable, nothing beats the tried-and-trusted hallmarks of Japanese cuisine.
Sashimi moriawase at Kura comes with a dash of originality. Fish, such as tuna of a more than adequate fattiness and salmon that is truly succulent, are supplemented by a sprinkling of sea urchin and crowned with an oyster. For those who like their food warm and cooked, the tempura also offers some moriawase treats that are light and crisp; they are not greasy and certainly not bland. The Japanese curry is often woefully underrated. Enjoyed it here at its rich, fragrant best.
