The blue fin tuna toro sashimi is an Unkaizan sig­na­ture and the best way to savour the fresh­ness of the fish. The de­li­ciously red slices of tuna are soft and just melt in the mouth. The salmon toro sashimi is an­other winner with its bright or­ange hue and fat mar­bling. Won­der­fully fresh, both dishes are a won­der­ful start to the meal.

The tem­pura mo­ri­awase is a crispy and crunchy com­bi­na­tion of prawns, threadfin, sweet pota­toes, egg­plants and cap­sicum — all fried to a golden per­fec­tion.

The sauce on the un­agi kabayashi is just the right amount of sweet­ness. The eel is ten­der and soft, a lovely com­ple­ment to its crispy charred skin. This dish is a must-try.

Also worth try­ing is the blue fin tuna toro aburi. Slices of tuna are lightly grilled on the out­side but they re­main pink on the in­side, giv­ing them a won­der­ful smoky flavour.
