To celebrate its 90th anniversary, Cassina has launched the C90 programme. This encompasses a contemporary retail experience developed by art director Patricia Urquiola, the renovation of its Milan showroom and reinterpretations of contemporary design classics dubbed Mutazioni (meaning ‘mutations’). These pieces include Gerrit Rietveld’s Utrecht armchair (1935), Carlo Scarpa’s Doge table (1968), and Piero Lissoni’s Met sofa system (1990). For the 2017 Milan Furniture Fair, Urquiola also created a special Cassina 9.0 installation at the Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli to celebrate the brand’s nine decades and mark the release of the brand’s commemorative 352-page monograph This Will Be the Place. The book will be available worldwide in autumn 2017.
