A Brady Union
Brian Choo and Jady Teoh found their happily ever after with each other in the company of good friends and family
Brian Choo and Jady Teoh tied the knot in the company of good friends and family
There is pressure nowadays for couples to host grand affairs for weddings. But Brian Choo and Jady Teoh proved that small and intimate affairs can be great fun too—with the right company to witness your union as husband and wife.
Brian and Jady first met through a mutual friend, who Brian was trying to get to know romantically at that point. But he soon realised how Jady was more in sync with him in terms of personality and values, then he soon developed strong feelings for her instead. A romantic at heart, Brian pursued her with determination and was thrilled when she returned his affections in kind.
It was natural for the couple to decide to tie the knot, especially as their families warmed up to each other. Although their
wedding date and arrangements were settled as the relationship progressed, Brian, ever-theromantic, simply knew he had to propose to the love of his life.
With the help of their close friends, he surprised Jady with a vacation in Surin, Phuket, where he got down on one knee to pop the question in the sand. Overwhelmed by the gesture, it took Jady awhile to compose herself and say yes. With the ring on her finger, the couple and their loved ones were truly feeling the wedding atmosphere from that day on.
The #Brady wedding started with the gatecrashing ceremony—where the groomsmen have to fetch the bride, who is being protected by the bridesmaids, thus engaging in hilarious challenges as a symbolism of Brian’s devotion to Jady. With his bride successfully claimed after rigorous trials, the couple then served tea to their elders, as per Chinese custom.
The celebration then continued into the evening, where the couple gathered with the people they love in Hubba Hubba, KL Sentral. Guests were welcomed with a red carpet entrance, decorated with pastel pink and white balloons, as parents of the groom, Fred Choo and Michele Kwok, were beaming with pride. While waiting for the event to start, guests had some fun taking silly pictures at the photobooth.
Finally, the couple made their entrance to showers of confetti and rose petals. In the outdoor area of the restaurant, Brian and Jady exchanged their vows—with the Petronas Twin Towers’ lights twinkling in the background as a silent witness. Then out came the champagne as Fred and Michele, together with parents of the bride, Wilson Teoh and Alice Tan, led a toast for the couple’s happiness.
As guests tucked into the sumptuous buffet spread for dinner, Brian’s brother Mark went on stage to say a few words, followed by Jady’s close friend and business partner, Ng Hui Jean. A few of Brian’s groomsmen, including Joshua Yeoh and Benjamin Teo, surprised him with a performance of songs honouring Brian and their friendship. The mood of the ROM party was buoyant, reaching a crescendo right after midnight.
