Apparently, designing a bathroom is not too vastly different than designing any other part of the house. “It always starts with a specic theme. It could be classic, modern, industrial, etc. Settle on a style before looking for products that suit,” she suggests. More often than not, the process also involves selecting a colour scheme, which can manifest in wall paints and tile work. But Isabelle is quick to remind us that colours can apply to ttings as well. “We now nd sanitary brands like AXOR providing special nishes, such as bronze, nickel and red gold; brushed or polished. Plain white is no longer the only option.” The secret, she believes, is to mix and match. A concoction of colours, lighting, texture, scents and accessories in the right scale will surely elicit an inviting, sensual experience. And one shall not undermine the power of technology. “To the hotels, incorporating technology that is intuitive and functional into the bathrooms is a sign of sophisticated hospitality as it brings convenience to the guests.” For their own sake, there is no reason why homeowners should not adopt the same approach.
