It was while being tasked to organise a charity fundraiser that Dr Priyya and Satyakumar truly bonded. “We got to know each other on a more personal level, discussing our views and thoughts... I think that’s when we both realised we’ve much in common, likes and dislikes as well as philosophies in life. Thus, our mutual admiration for each other began to grow,” divulged Priyya. She described their relationship as one that started off as friends, sharing their highs and lows with each other—for three years—before the pair decided to date seriously and take the next steps towards marriage. Their union was an elaborate and grand affair, which even featured the presence of premier Tun Mahathir and his wife. The first major event was the wedding ceremony, which took place at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, which was then followed by the dinner reception at St Regis Kuala Lumpur. “Of course all the festivities couldn’t have gone so smoothly, without the presence of our dear friends and family, especially my mum and Satya’s parents, plus everyone else. The outpouring of love and help from them surely made our union all the more special, and perfect,” Priyya concluded.
