A while later, a Lancôme of­fi­cial ad­dressed us, and beck­oned to have us fol­low her into one of the rooms that was en­sconced in dark­ness. There was a creative in­stal­la­tion set up in the mid­dle of the room, where im­ages of roses floated about the hang­ing screens, which then played a short video of the lat­est, rein­vented lux­u­ri­ous Ab­solue range. We watched, eyes tak­ing in the view and the in­for­ma­tion that was pre­sented about a trans­formed for­mula, one that is much more po­tent than the last Ab­solue. But what is just watch­ing com­pared to ex­pe­ri­enc­ing? Lancôme clearly thought this through, be­cause as soon as the video ended, our next stop was to­wards a long counter in the mid­dle of the room, with black boxes, con­tain­ers and tow­els perched atop. Lancôme’s sci­en­tific di­rec­tor, Dr Véronique Delvi­gne, greeted us warmly, say­ing “You have watched the video, and now it’s time to ex­pe­ri­ence the prod­ucts.”
