In 1961, three artists came together to create Diptyque – Yves Coueslant (a set designer), Desmond Knox-Leet (a painter), and Christiane Gautrot (a textile designer).

The three friends loved to travel, and Diptyque’s personal fragrances (launched seven years later) were mostly inspired by their adventures and memories in exotic places. With over 43 unique fragrances to date, each scent is intimate, nostalgic and personal to the wearer. To choose your scent, each Diptyque boutique has a fitting area to help you pick from a variety of fragrances. Be it herbal, floral, fruity, woody or spicy, you are to take turns smelling each scent without looking at the label. This technique helps you to immerse yourself into the fragrance, without being hindered by preconceived notions of what each ingredient entails. Once provided with a variety of perfumes based on your scent test, you can choose to layer your fragrances for a distinct aroma that is completely your own.
