I saw a gap in the market for bespoke makeup to suit a variety of different skin colours and tones, ages and tastes, that gave a truly natural and beautiful look. Lynne Sanders, Founder of Cosmetics à La Carte

COSMETICS À LA CARTE

British bespoke beauty boutique, Cosmetics à La Carte, was founded by Lynne Sanders, a Chemist and Cosmetic Scientist with a passion for natural individualised beauty. With over 40 years of experience in the industry, Lynne is still very much involved in the development of new shades and formulas at her brand’s London laboratory situated inconspicuously behind Sloan Square, which has been offering made-tomeasure makeup since the early 1970s.

To create your own custom lipstick shade, you can provide anything as a point of reference – from a fabric swatch or a cut-out from a magazine to a specific Pantone colour card. In less than hour, you can walk out the store with your very own customised lippie. Various ingredients are selected from a vast repository of ready-made elements to mimic your chosen hue, and are blended right in front of you. It costs £55 (about RM300), and the lipsticks come in matte, moisturising, shimmer and translucent formulas. You can even enhance the lipsticks with nourishing butters and SPF to keep your lips hydrated and protected throughout the day. As an added bonus, the lipsticks are cruelty-free, and completely free from sulphates, alcohol, palm oil, phthalates, paraben, preservatives and fragrance. In addition to customised lipsticks, the brand also offers natural looking customblended foundations, blusher and highly pigmented eyeshadows.

The bespoke lipstick service at Cosmetics à La Carte is currently only available on an appointment basis.
