The first of its kind in Australia, The Lip Lab allows you to choose, mix and apply your own lipstick shades, and also offers limited edition packaging from time to time. Situated in Sydney, the brand keeps things simple in three easy steps:

STEP 1: Choose

Each consultation takes about 30 minutes. The technician will blend several colours in front of you to help you determine which combinations you like best. You can even choose to make lip glosses instead of lipsticks. Additionally, you can add your own flavour (like citrus or blueberry), SPF for sun protection, as well as lip plumping and anti-ageing ingredients. The Lip Lab also offers pre-made lip liners and nail polishes to complement your customised lipstick.

STEP 2: Mix

Once you’ve selected your colours, flavours and finish, Lip Lab will blend and create the lipstick for you on the spot, which takes under 15 minutes. The entire process includes heating, mixing and cooling the lipsticks in their custom-made lipstick moulds.

STEP 3: Apply

Now that your customised lippie is complete, all you have to do is put it on! You will also be provided with a consultation card listing the exact blend of ingredients should you wish to repurchase the lipstick in the future. Recently, Lip Lab offered limited edition Swarovski lipstick cases, and new editions are always updated on their website.

The Lip Lab is currently only available on an appointment basis in Lip Lab stores in Australia. For more information, visit www.theli
