No price in­crease for E and V ver­sions, while S vari­ant is RM1,000 cheaper

HONDA Malaysia Sdn Bhd has tar­geted sales of 2,000 units a month of the new Honda City. The C-seg­ment car was launched yes­ter­day with man­ag­ing di­rec­tor and chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Kat­suto Hayashi say­ing it is of­fered at the B-seg­ment price with­out any in­crease.

The new City comes with Honda’s sig­na­ture 1.5L i-VTEC en­gine, which is avail­able in three vari­ants of S, E and V, with an on­the-road prices of RM78,300, RM84,600 and RM92,000, re­spec­tively.

Honda Malaysia has kept the price of E and V vari­ants un­changed, while the S vari­ant is RM1,000 less than the pre­vi­ous S+ vari­ant.

“I am con­fi­dent these three vari­ants can attract more buy­ers in­ter­ested in up­grad­ing for bet­ter value-added fea­tures.

“Honda Malaysia aims to sell 2,000 units of these vari­ants per month,” said Hayashi yes­ter­day.

The new City is avail­able in five colours, namely Lu­nar Sil­ver Metal­lic, Dark Ruby Red Pearl, Taf­fetta White, Mod­ern Steel Metal­lic and Crys­tal Black Pearl.

Since the launch of the 4th generation City in March 2014, the model has been the leader in the B-seg­ment sedan cat­e­gory, with more than 100,000 units on Malaysian roads, which ac­counts for al­most 40 per cent of Honda Malaysia’s sales in three years.
