Hot Ahmad Muaz moves 12 rungs to third
Muaz Fishol was the biggest mover after Friday’s qualifying round at the H.H Emir Cup in Doha.
The bowler improved his score by 92 pins for an eight-game total of 1,968 pinfalls to move up 12 rungs to third in the overseas pool.
Adrian Ang dropped one rung to second in the overseas pool on 1,988, followed by Syaidatul Afifah Badrul Hamidi (fourth – 1,967) and Zulmazran Zulkifli (sixth – 1,942).
In the mixed pool, Natasha was second on 1,915, ahead of Esther Cheah (seventh – 1,890), Syafiq Ridhwan Abdul Malek (ninth – 1,889), Radin Nur Najwa Arifah Radin Dzulfakar (10th – 1,888), Timmy Tan (12th – 1,887), Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman (13th – 1,884), Shalin Zulkifli (15th – 1,879) and Sin Li Jane (16th – 1,878).
The top 32 — six each from the local (Qatar bowlers) and overseas pools and 16 from the mixed pool — will make the second stage. The two qualifying squads were completed late yesterday.
“We have 12 bowlers in contention for the second stage. Esther and Radin Nur Najwa were the new inclusions after the completion of the seventh and eighth squad ,” said team manager George Tan yesterday.
