Hot Ah­mad Muaz moves 12 rungs to third

Muaz Fishol was the big­gest mover af­ter Fri­day’s qual­i­fy­ing round at the H.H Emir Cup in Doha.

The bowler im­proved his score by 92 pins for an eight-game to­tal of 1,968 pin­falls to move up 12 rungs to third in the over­seas pool.

Adrian Ang dropped one rung to sec­ond in the over­seas pool on 1,988, fol­lowed by Syai­datul Afi­fah Badrul Hamidi (fourth – 1,967) and Zul­mazran Zulk­i­fli (sixth – 1,942).

In the mixed pool, Natasha was sec­ond on 1,915, ahead of Esther Cheah (sev­enth – 1,890), Syafiq Rid­hwan Ab­dul Malek (ninth – 1,889), Radin Nur Na­jwa Ari­fah Radin Dzul­fakar (10th – 1,888), Timmy Tan (12th – 1,887), Siti Safiyah Ami­rah Ab­dul Rah­man (13th – 1,884), Shalin Zulk­i­fli (15th – 1,879) and Sin Li Jane (16th – 1,878).

The top 32 — six each from the lo­cal (Qatar bowlers) and over­seas pools and 16 from the mixed pool — will make the sec­ond stage. The two qual­i­fy­ing squads were com­pleted late yes­ter­day.

“We have 12 bowlers in con­tention for the sec­ond stage. Esther and Radin Nur Na­jwa were the new in­clu­sions af­ter the com­ple­tion of the sev­enth and eighth squad ,” said team man­ager Ge­orge Tan yes­ter­day.

Ah­mad Muaz Fishol im­proved his score by 92 pins with an eightgame to­tal of 1,968 pin­falls.
