Dad claims trial to in­cest with daugh­ter

A 50-year-old fa­ther was charged in the Ses­sions Court here yes­ter­day for com­mit­ting in­cest with his daugh­ter.

The man, who works as a con­tract worker, claimed trial to com­mit­ting the of­fence at his home here about 12.30am in Novem­ber 2011 when his daugh­ter was 17.

He was ar­rested on Jan 12. Deputy pub­lic pros­e­cu­tor Siti Ru­vinna Mohd Rawi urged the court to deny bail as the ac­cused could ha­rass the vic­tim.

De­fence coun­sel Ishak Kari re­quested the court to con­sider bail, but left it to the court’s dis­cre­tion.

None of the ac­cused’s fam­ily mem­bers were present.

Ishak said the vic­tim was no longer liv­ing with his client.

“The com­plainant no longer lives with her fa­ther. She is study­ing in a out-of-state univer­sity.”

Judge Ah­mad Sazali Omar fixed March 21 for men­tion.

On Jan 19, the ac­cused was charged at the mag­is­trate’s and Ses­sions Court here for com­mit­ting in­cest and out­rag­ing the mod­esty of his daugh­ter in 2007 and 2015.

He was al­leged to have com­mit­ted in­cest with his daugh­ter in mid-2007 about 12am at a house in a vil­lage here.

He also claimed trial to out­rag­ing the mod­esty of his daugh­ter in mid-2015 about 2am at a house here.
