New Straits Times - - News -

The family members of two security guards, who were charged in the Sessions Court here yesterday, were seen weeping during and after the charges were read.

The men were charged with committing unnatural sexual intercourse with two primary school pupils.

Mokhtaruddin Abdul Manan, 57, and L. Joy Lawrence, 38, were each charged with committing four offences in February, on the 8-year-old and 10-year-old pupils at a school here.

The offences were alleged to have taken place at the school’s guardhouse and toilets, between 7am and 7.30am.

Deputy public prosecutor Shafiq Hasim requested for no bail, stating that the offences were serious and there could be tampering of the victims and witnesses if they were given bail.

Both accused were unrepresented. Judge Hilmiah Yusof did not grant bail and fixed April 3 for mention.
