Miss Malaysia World 2016 Ta­tiana Ku­mar has been stripped of her ti­tle, seven months af­ter she won the crown here.

The an­nounce­ment was made via the Miss Malaysia World or­gan­i­sa­tion’s In­sta­gram ac­count (@mis­s_­world_­malaysia) yes­ter­day.

The post stated that Ta­tiana, 19, had breached the code of con­duct and con­tract.

“It has come to our at­ten­tion that there is a breach of our code of con­duct and con­tract by the reign­ing Miss Malaysia World 2016 Ta­tiana Ku­mar.

“We wish to an­nounce that, af­ter due con­sid­er­a­tion, with ef­fect from to­day (yes­ter­day), Ta­tiana Nandha Ku­mar will no longer be the ti­tle holder for Miss Malaysia World 2016,” said for­mer na­tional direc­tor and li­censee for Miss Malaysia World Datuk Anna Lin.

In the state­ment, Lin an­nounced first run­ner-up Sh­weta Sekhon, 20, as the new Miss Malaysia World 2016/17.

Born to a French mother and a Malaysian fa­ther, Ta­tiana was crowned as Miss Malaysia World 2016 in Au­gust last year.

She rep­re­sented Malaysia at Miss World 2016 in the United States on Dec 18 last year.
