VW may sanc­tion more em­ploy­ees

Volk­swa­gen AG (VW) ex­pects to broaden dis­ci­plinary ac­tion be­yond the two dozen em­ploy­ees the car­maker has al­ready sus­pended in a diesel emis­sions cheat­ing scan­dal, said chair­man Hans Di­eter Poetsch on Mon­day. “It is to be ex­pected that there will yet be a whole string of (per­son­nel) con­se­quences,” he said. VW had re­frained from tak­ing ac­tion against em­ploy­ees at the re­quest of United States au­thor­i­ties in or­der to not jeop­ar­dise the suc­cess of in­ves­ti­ga­tions, Poetsch added.
