DPM: Those held were below 40

New Straits Times - - News -

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has expressed dismay that 80 per cent of suspects arrested for involvement in radical movements last year were below 40.

“In this respect, programmes to educate our youths must be carried out continuously. Several preventive measures against radicalism, formulated by the Youth and Sports Ministry, will be coordinated with other ministries and agencies,” Zahid said after chairing the Youth Development Cabinet Committee meeting yesterday.

He said one way was to exploit social media to counter strategies used by radicals to influence youth.
