V Shem-Wee Kiong vow to bounce back

WORLD No 1 Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong are deter­mined to bounce back at the In­dia Open on March 28-April 2 af­ter crash­ing out of the All Eng­land on Fri­day.

The Malaysian men’s dou­bles were not at their best in Birm­ing­ham, los­ing 21-19, 17-21, 21-19 to China’s Li Jun­hui-Liu Yuchen in the quar­ter-fi­nals.

V Shem said: “I ad­mit I could not give my best and was very slow on court.

“My con­di­tion at the All Eng­land has def­i­nitely been be­low par. I just hope my (right) an­kle in­jury will re­cover in time be­fore the In­dia Open.”

V Shem picked up the in­jury prior to the Na­tional Cham­pi­onships in Ulu Kinta last month, where he was sup­posed to part­ner Teo Ee Yi. Apart from the In­dia Open in New Delhi, V Shem-Wee Kiong will com­pete in the Malaysia Open (April 4-9) and Sin­ga­pore Open (April 11-16).
