KUALA LUMPUR: iflix, a subscription video-on-demand service owned by Iflix Sdn Bhd, yesterday announced the launch of its revolutionary service in Myanmar.

The announcement follows the company’s launch in Vietnam, increasing iflix’s presence over the Asian region across 10 countries since first launching in Malaysia and the Philippines in mid-2015.

“As the fourth fastest-growing mobile market on earth, Myanmar is without question one of the world’s most exciting and dynamic countries and we are thrilled to introduce our first-of-its-kind service here.

“It is our aim to redefine how consumers in Myanmar enjoy entertainment with groundbreaking features and a seamless mobile streaming experience,” said iflix Myanmar country manager Adeana Greenlee in a statement yesterday.

She said Myanmar customers would now be able to enjoy movies to TV shows and regional hits catering specifically to the lifestyle of the locals.

Last month, iflix teamed with Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) to offer an extension of entitlement to subscribers, offering eligible UniFi and Streamyx customers continued access to the former’s service.

Both new and existing UniFi and Streamyx 4Mbps and 8Mbps subscribers are entitled to unlimited access to iflix from now till December 31 courtesy of TM, said iflix and TM in a statement.
