AFC Cup.

On Tuesday, Darul Ta’zim went ahead through Mahali Jasuli in the 30th minute with Safiq Rahim (34th), Brian Ferreira (87th) and Marcos Antonio (90th) completing the rout to propel the team to the top of the group with a one-point lead over Global.

Coach Benjamin Mora made three changes to his team that thrashed Universiti Teknoloji Mara (UiTM) 4-0 in last week’s FA Cup match with Amirulhadi Yahya earning his first start since the 2-1 defeat to Perak in the Super League on Feb 18 following an injury to holding midfielder Afiq Fazail.

“Amirulhadi produced a consistent performance. He started as a regular this season but lost his place to Afiq.

“It is good that Amirulhadi has made use of the opportunity to shine and I hope to see him improve.

“It was an impressive win today but we need to forget about it as the players need to shift their focus to the FA Cup quarter-final first leg match against Pahang on April 1,” Ismail added.

Darul Ta’zim’s Ahmad Hazwan Bakri (centre) is marked by Global FC players at Larkin Stadium on Tuesday.
