Al­legedly drunk driver in three-car pile-up

SHAH ALAM: A man who al­legedly drove un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol was se­ri­ously in­jured in a three-ve­hi­cle pile-up at Shah Alam Ex­press­way here last night.

The 9pm in­ci­dent at Km32.4 of the ex­press­way hap­pened when the driver, who was driv­ing a Pero­dua Alza, lost con­trol of the ve­hi­cle and rammed into a road di­vider.

Se­lan­gor Fire and Res­cue Depart­ment as­sis­tant di­rec­tor (op- er­a­tions) Mohd Sani Harul said the ac­ci­dent caused two other cars — a Pro­ton Per­sona and a Honda Ac­cord — to crash as well.

“The vic­tim was given im­me­di­ate med­i­cal at­ten­tion by the depart­ment’s paramedics at the scene be­fore he was taken to Shah Alam Hos­pi­tal.”

He said 11 firemen from the Shah Alam fire sta­tion was despatched fol­low­ing a distress call at 9.19pm.
