MUHAMMAD Khairun Khairuddin, 30, is now a more confident man ever since he lost 27.2kg after joining the Media Prima Bhd (MPB) “Jom Sihat 100-Day Weight Loss Challenge”.

He starte d the challenge weighing 88.9kg and finished it at 61.7kg, losing 30.6 per cent of his body weight.

The MPB finance executive cycled, ran and hiked, and ate mostly steamed vegetables. He ate rice and chicken only on Fridays to recover his muscles after rig- orous workouts.

“I had to be flexible with my routines. If I strained a muscle from running too much, I would focus on abs and arms while the injured muscle recovered,” he said after the prize-giving ceremony where he took home RM2,000 and an Oppo F1s handphone.

Khairun said the challenge also tested him emotionally and psychologically.

“Changing my diet and working out really drained me. Sometimes, people would tease me for wanting to lose weight. However, my family encouraged me to keep going. In fact, I have surpassed my ideal weight, which is 70kg to 74kg. So, the next step is musclebuilding,” said Khairun, who is getting married tomorrow.
