Santokh trophy up for grabs
THE action is expected to be hot at the 5th SportsUnite Samba Bola Under-12 Unity Football Carnival for the Datuk Santokh Singh trophy.
To be held at the Section 7 ground in Kota Damansara, the 7a-side event is limited to 32 teams.
Teams will be competing for the trophy named after one of Malaysia’s football legends Santokh, who will be at the March 26 carnival.
“I am very happy with the good response each year. I believe this event is very important for two things.
“It promotes unity and gives children an opportunity to play in a competitive environment,” said Santokh, one of Asia’s best defenders in his heydays.
Teams interested in competing should contact Kota Damansara Football Club president Norizan Johar at 014-2299526.
Teams must consists of players from a minimum of two races and the carnival is organised by SportsUnite Sports Club in collaboration with Kota Damansara Football Club.
It is jointly sponsored by the National Sports Council, Revive Isotonic Drinks, Milo, Figos and the Petaling Jaya City Council.
