Parkson opens store at MyTown mall in Cheras
KUALA LUMPUR: Parkson Holdings Bhd officially opened its newest store at MyTown Shopping Centre in Cheras yesterday, with a focus on children and baby retailing.
The store is Parkson’s 45th in Malaysia, and its second i n Cheras after Sunway Velocity Mall.
Out of the 149, 986 sq ft floor space in MyTown, 15,002 sq ft is occupied by Parkson’s children and baby department.
Several exclusive brands, such as Kor, Mave, French Connection and Trucco, are also available in the department store.
In conjunction with the opening, the store is offering special discounts for shoppers from brands like Hush Puppies, DC Comics and Disney’s Pixar. Discount vouchers for up to RM20 are also available with purchases.
Parkson also offers free Parkson card member applications exclusively at MyTown.
MyTown is a joint venture development of Boustead Holdings Bhd and Ikano Pte Ltd.
The retail portion of the ven- ture is expected to command a gross development value (GDV) of RM2 billion, while the residential portion will have a GDV of RM1 billion. Ikea and Parkson are the anchor tenants.
Parkson has 131 retail stores in five countries across Asia, including Malaysia. It has 60 stores in China, nine in Vietnam, 16 in Indonesia and one in Myanmar.
