SEC tar­gets three­fold rise in sales with new project

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah En­ergy Cor­po­ra­tion Sdn Bhd (SEC) is tar­get­ing to in­crease sales of nat­u­ral gas to 167,000 cu­bic me­tres daily with the im­ple­men­ta­tion of its new project at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Area, here.

The project, which at­tracted more than RM60 mil­lion in in­vest­ments this year, will be con­ducted via a part­ner­ship with Zhang ji­a­gang Fu­rui Spe­cial Equip­ment Co Ltd.

SEC chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Datuk Harun Is­mail said it ex­pected to com­plete the fa­cil­ity by the end of the year.

“The three­fold in­crease in sales from the cur­rent 51,000 cu­bic me­tres per day can be achieved in four years when dis­tri­bu­tion ex­pands to the west coast, in­te­rior and north­ern part of Sabah.

“Upon the com­ple­tion of the Pan-Bor­neo High­way, sales is ex­pected to in­crease again, as the dis­tri­bu­tion area will also cover the east coast of the state.”

He was speak­ing af­ter Sabah Chief Min­is­ter Datuk Seri Musa Aman launched the project, here, yesterday.
