U-turn poser for mo­torists with com­ple­tion of new road

reS­i­deNtS of sev­eral vil­lages voiced out the need for traf­fic lights at junc­tions lead­ing to vil­lages along the new Pan-Bor­neo High­way, which will be com­pleted here soon.

Once the project was com­pleted, af­fected vil­lagers com­ing from Dong­gongon town would have to drive far­ther be­fore mak­ing U-turns to re­turn to their homes on the op­po­site side of the road.

A man, who only wanted to be known as Si­mon, from Kam­pung Lim­banak said mas­sive bot­tle­neck sit­u­a­tions dur­ing peak hours could be ex­pected as mo­torists would have to make U-turns along the route.

He added ar­eas around Kam­pung Lim­banak alone had a large pop­u­la­tion of about 1,000 fam­i­lies, two schools, a clinic and a church.

Res­i­dents look­ing at the new stretch of Pan-Bor­neo High­way that will soon be com­pleted.
